DIY Cake in a Mug

DIY Cake in a Mug

Hello friends!  Get ready for a delightful treat that’ll have your taste buds doing a happy dance!  It’s cold and snowy outside today, so there’s no better time to dive into homemade goodness with my favorite quick fix – the DIY cake in a mug I like to call “Chocolate Bliss”. Trust me, this isn’t just a cake; it’s a warm hug on a cold day, wrapped in a cocoa-infused dream. Let’s get to baking!

Ingredients

  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate chips (because there’s no such thing as too much chocolate!)

Instructions

  1. Start by finding your favorite mug – make sure it’s microwave-safe. This is your personal canvas for chocolate artistry!
  2. In the mug, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  3. Pour in the whole milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Now, grab that miniature whisk and mix everything together until you have a smooth, velvety batter.
  4. Sprinkle those chocolate chips on top of the batter – this is where the magic happens. They’ll melt into gooey pockets of happiness while your cake bakes.
  5. Pop your mug into the microwave on high for about 1 minute and 30 seconds. Keep an eye on it – we want perfection, not a chocolate eruption!
  6. Once your mug cake has risen to the occasion, let it cool for a minute or two. I know it’s tempting, but patience is a virtue in the kitchen.
  7. Garnish with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of your favorite vanilla ice cream if you’re feeling extra indulgent. This is your masterpiece, after all!
